OUR MANGROVE CANOPY SYSTEM

Five minutes around the corner from our shop, nature provides us with a spectacular mangrove system. You will find exploring mangrove tunnels and flats fascinating and relaxing. Manatees, fish, bald eagles, egrets, nurse sharks and stingrays are just a few of the Keys critters you may encounter. You never know what you might see! Maps are provided for easy navigation and fishing rods are more than welcome.

LIGNUMVITAE KEY BOTANICAL STATE PARK

Visiting the Matheson House on Lignumvitae is like stepping back in time. The house was built in 1919 and reflects how island people lived during a simple time when most of their needs were met by the land and sea around them. The island offers a variety of unique botany. There is a state park fee of $2.50 per person. Guided one hour tour by park ranger is only during the months of December-April, Friday-Sunday at 10am and 2:30 for a fee of $2 per person.
